Margie Shard, CFP® Co-Founder & CEO

Margie Shard is a Certified Financial Planner with more than 16 years of experience guiding individuals and families in building, protecting, and growing their wealth. After selling her Michigan-based firm in 2016, she relocated to Florida, where she expanded into online marketing and became an international bestselling fiction author — blending creativity with the strategic discipline that defines her leadership style today.

As Co-Founder of Anchor Point Housing Solutions LLC, Margie serves as the strategic and operational backbone of the organization, actively supporting every market the company serves. She focuses on maintaining financial strength, guiding sustainable growth, and implementing best practices that allow Anchor Point to scale responsibly while expanding safe, stable housing opportunities for Veterans. Her leadership ensures the organization grows with purpose by aligning fiscal stewardship, operational excellence, and mission-driven execution so that more Veterans can be served without compromising standards or care.

Margie’s commitment to impact extends far beyond business. She has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Food Bank to combat food insecurity and has supported charities dedicated to domestic abuse survivors, at-risk children, and other vulnerable communities. After witnessing the growing number of Veterans facing housing insecurity, she became determined to be part of a lasting solution with a mission that continues to guide her work at Anchor Point Housing Solutions, LLC.

A proud mother and soon-to-be bride, Margie balances her professional drive with a deep appreciation for life outside the office. She enjoys boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, and investing in real estate, all pursuits that reflect her energy, curiosity, and forward-looking mindset.

Shekiera Mitchell, Co - Founder & Director of Greater Orlando Area Operations

Shekiera Mitchell is a licensed Real Estate Agent, experienced Property Manager, and real estate investor with a strategic focus on long-term housing solutions. Her background includes residential transactions, property operations, and structured housing management, giving her a comprehensive understanding of how to acquire, manage, and sustain quality housing environments.

Her commitment to serving veterans is deeply personal. As the daughter and ongoing support system for her father, a  disabled U.S. veteran, Shekiera has firsthand insight into the unique needs veterans and their families navigate daily. Assisting with medical care, transportation, and long-term stability has shaped her respect for those who have served and strengthened her dedication to providing dignified housing solutions.

Through Anchor Point Housing Solutions, Shekiera focuses on creating professionally managed shared and private room housing designed to offer stability, safety, and long-term placement opportunities for veterans transitioning into independent living.

Demetra Strong, Co - Founder & Director of Greater Tampa Bay Area Operations

Demetra Strong is a proud daughter of a military veteran and comes from a family with a strong tradition of military service. This foundation inspired her lifelong commitment to serving others, particularly veterans and vulnerable populations.

With over 16 years of experience in customer service, including her professional work with USAA, Demetra has built a career rooted in advocacy and service to military families. Her background in housing oversight and protective services has further strengthened her understanding of the critical importance of safe, stable living environments.

Demetra is a proud mother of one daughter and enjoys giving back through volunteering with Feeding Tampa Bay and Metropolitan Ministries. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, and meeting new people.

Rebecca Bartley, Co-Founder & Director of Michigan Operations

Originally from New Orleans, LA, and raised in a proud military family, Rebecca developed an early appreciation for service, resilience, and the importance of having a place to call home. She brings over 30 years of mortgage industry experience and a lifelong passion for helping people achieve stability, security, and opportunity through homeownership. All these values continue to guide her work today.

To Rebecca, a home is a milestone that represents trust, hope, and a new chapter. She is known for guiding clients with honesty, clarity, and genuine care, ensuring they feel confident and supported at every step of their journey. Her deep industry knowledge, strong work ethic, and people-first mindset make her a trusted advocate for families navigating important financial decisions, including our country’s bravest heroes.

Service to others has always been central to Rebecca’s life and leadership. She dedicated a decade to serving on the board of a nonprofit organization and continues to stay actively involved in her community. Rebecca believes success is measured not only by results, but by the positive impact we leave behind. Whether helping a client secure a home or advancing Anchor Point’s mission to provide stable housing solutions, she leads with heart, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to making a meaningful difference.
